You have the option of customizing the look and feel of this door by changing
text and/or color codes in this file!
READ THIS!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!
If you change ANY line with a colon (:) after it, the door WILL HANG!
DO NOT change them! I have included a backup of this file in the archive for
people who don't believe me. Called TEXT.BAK
The only things you don't want to mess with are lines with a colon on the end
of it and the actual option letters in the menu's. Option letters being the
letters in between the brackets [].
EXAMPLE:
[`bright magenta`H`magenta`] End call (hangup)
^ The H here is what actually makes the option
work. If you change it, the program will STILL
look for an H, NOT the letter you replace it with!
Also, prices will not be changed in the program by changing the text display.
You can change anything else to your liking, but keep in mind that it needs
to follow the games' play so it makes sense or the players will get confused.
I recommend playing the game and getting used to how it works before you
attempt to change any of the text.
All screen displays begin with a descriptive title ending with a colon and end
with the same title followed by "end" and a colon. For example, "text:" would
be the beginning of a screen display and "textend:" would be the end of it.
You can edit everything in between the titles to edit that screen.
BE VERY CAREFUL not to add text anywhere with a colon after it! You could
accidentally be replacing a title somewhere! This will produce unexpected
results!
YOU CAN however, change the colors without affecting anything but the way it
looks! The following explains exactly how to do that.
Door color options. These options specify the various text colors that
will be used by the door if ANSI or AVATAR graphics modes are available.
Colors are specified in the format:
{Bright} {Flashing} [Foreground Color] on [Background Color]
Where foreground and background colors are one of:
Black
Blue
Green
Cyan
Red
Magenta
Yellow / Brown
White / Grey
The ` (the key next to the 1 with the ~ on top) MUST be used immediately
in front of and following any color codes or it will not work.
EXAMPLE: `flashing bright blue on black` or `red`
Color codes do not use ANY space on the screen when displayed...
Any changes made to this file in future versions will be listed at the bottom
of the file for ease of importation if you choose to modify anything...

until it explodes into a terrifying roar... After a moment, you are able to
breath again and your heart slows down to a liveable rate. He squints his
beady blood red eyes and stares at you, waiting for your next move.

`green`You try to speak but all you manage to do is open your mouth and gurgle a
little. Ralph releases his grip just enough for you to choke out an appology
of some sort... You realize that Ralph is a little too much for you at this
time as he effortlessly tosses you to the ground.

`green`You merely point your finger at Ralph and think about the weapon firing at
him. The end of your finger erupts a bright flash of purple light and totally
envelopes Ralphs' body... He immediately transforms into his hideous original
form and you turn away in disgust. Looking back, you see Ralph (or something
that was Ralph) writhing in pain, a horrible spectacle of a grotesque alien
death. It doesn't take long to dissolve him completely and you find yourself
standing alone in the control room of the teleporter!

alleys and deserted streets where the Nightcrawlers rule... The skin crawls
up your back as you shiver with excitement and anticipation of the dangers
you're about to face.

`bright blue`As you head north thru the deserted streets you notice a lingering stench
that you hadn't noticed in the safe zone. You can't quite place it but your
skin crawls with the distinct knowledge that it's the smell of death... You
hear a moaning sound coming from the building on the right and continue on
your way as quietly as possible...

`bright blue`The sound of a terrified woman screaming hysterically pierces the night as you
head south. You hear the sound of something impacting her body and then the
screaming stops abruptly, ending with a wierd gurgling sound... You have a
sudden urge to run but you manage to continue on under control...

`bright blue`You head east out of the safe zone and soon find yourself in an area that must
have been what was once the wealthy side of town. There are large lots with
huge houses that have gates and fences around them. It's obvious that no one
has lived in them for years tho. You soon find yourself in a rural area with
mansions on both sides of the wide road. Up ahead, on the top of a rise, you
see a HUGE mansion with many spires and steep roofs jutting into the sky.
It looks as if it's occupied with flickering light comming from several of the
windows. You decide to investigate...

`bright blue`As you head west you find it nearly impossible to make quick progress. The
streets are covered with rubble from destroyed buildings and wrecked cars...
You eventually come upon what looks like an impassable barrier but with some
searching you find a route around it and continue on.

`bright blue`After traveling several miles, you find yourself at an intersection that has
three sides completely blocked off. A dead end... turning to find another
way, you are stopped by the sight of many Nightcrawlers blocking your exit.
Fighting your way out is obvoiusly your only option...

`bright blue`You walk for miles but never find anything worth mentioning... You feel very
weary and decide to head back.

`bright blue`It takes you quite a while to reach the mansion but after many obstacles, you
finally find yourself standing in the front courtyard. You take a couple
steps toward the mansion when you suddenly feel a wierd molecular pull on
your entire being. Kind of like the time transporter, but different... In
an instant you find yourself in a cell-like room. You notice a funny smell
and try to hold your breath but it's too late and the room fades to black as
you pass out.

`bright blue`You're having a strange dream... a world with incredible machines and the
most advanced weapons you've ever seen... something jostles you out of your
dream... you suddenly bolt upright, eyes wide, scanning the area... you're
on a cot, in the middle of what must be the living room of the huge mansion.
In front of you is a table with a glass of some blueish liquid on it. A voice
behind you says "Drink the walya, it will clear your mind". You spin around
and leap in the direction of the voice, seeing a middle-aged man sitting about
10 feet behind you. Throwing a heel directly at his solar-plexus, your foot
encounters a force field of some kind and you're knocked backward. The man
smiles, and tells you not to be afraid. The trap you fell into is meant for
the Nightcrawler Gang members and you are obviously not one of them... "For
a price" he says, "I will give you information about a doctor who does weapon
imbedding. It is expensive and you must be strong enough to survive the
implant, but it will give you the power you need to kill Ralph...!"

that, I will give you instructions on how to find the doctor in the future.

`bright blue`You head east to give the dude his gold so you can get the info for the future
and get your implant. After walking for several miles, you feel the air
quivering around you and a brilliant flash of light in front of you. The dude
is standing on the street in front of you with a big grin on his face... "You
have the gold!", he exclaims. You nod in the afirmative and hand him the sack
of gold. He laughs and motions you closer. You advance a few feet and listen
while he gives you the whereabouts of the doctor in the future. After he's
sure you know what to do, he slaps you on the back and says "Good luck man! I
don't know what the Doc's charging these days but I'm sure it'll be expensive!
Have fun!" You step back with a sudden urge to shoot the asshole... "WHAT!
I just risked my life to get you that gold! I have to pay for this implant
now?!" He looks at you with a puzzled expression... "You didn't think it was
free did you?", he laughs. Then, with another flash of light, he dissapears
into the night... You're pissed, but you have nothing better to do than to
find the Doc and see what he charges...

`bright blue`You notice some activity in one of the buildings. While you're trying to
decide if you should get the hell out of here you here a shot and the ground
in front of you explodes. You are blown back a few feet and the world fades
to black around you...
When you open your eyes you realize that you must have been out for only a few
seconds. You see a huge dude approaching...

`bright blue`You come upon the dead, bleeding body of Garak... An eerie feeling comes over
you and the sound of hundreds of angry people gets closer and closer as you
listen. You decide that you'd better get out of here before they get here and
rip you to shreds! The smell of the money pisses you off as you turn and run
back to the edge of the safe zone...

`green`You spin around, scanning the area. His followers are scattering, apparently
scared of you. You decide that hanging around probably isn't a good idea, but
you check out the building that Garak came from first and find a ton of cash

safe zone...

your shoulder and see the jet black baseball cap of the Nightcrawler gang slip

must be an inn or something...

the pickings are going to be slim. But you're sure that with your brains you

You head up the trail mindless of the dangers you're about to face. You're
more concerned about the fabulous treasure of gold you heard the dragon has
hidden in it's lair!

`bright blue`After miles of brush, scaling small cliffs and streams you find yourself in
front of a cave opening in the side of a mountain. Your heart starts racing
with the knowledge that you've found the dragon's lair! Cautiously moving
toward the entrance, you secretly hope the dragon is nowhere around... Just
when you start to think you got lucky, you hear a deafening roar from within
the bellows of the cave.

you see the dead, steaming body of the dragon, it's guts bubbling and hissing
from the heat still present. A huge bubble of gas escapes from somewhere in
the huge corpse and a overwhelming stench overcomes you and you nearly vomit
from the reek. You wish you had killed it futher from the cave entrance as
you stumble back...

the trail away from the dragon. You only hope no one see's you before you're
able to regain your composure...

is blue again, and the city is bright and clean! People are flying around in
strange looking soundless ships that seem to have no engine but are amazingly
fast! You begin to think about not going back when a ship stops and a lady
starts screaming, "TIME TRAVELER! KILL HIM!". You decide you had better get
going or you won't be going back after all...

book character. He has haphazard patches of hair that look like he's never
combed it and baggy clothes.

after what seems like only a minute with the doctor saying your all set. You
can't believe it's done but you look at the end of your forefinger and see a
small slit. The doc tells you not to shoot yourself in the face and explains
how to use it.

out of the ordinary. You manage to take a few steps when a man wearing a jet
black baseball cap steps onto the sidewalk directly in front of you. He

of your enemies here. The tour doesn't take long since many species of fish
are now extinct. There's a few mutant breeds and some of the old ones that
managed to survive the polution, but nothing real exciting...

bit as much like a regular city street. You wonder how in the world this

Sometime around 4:00am you wake up in time to see a blurry flash and feel a
heavy blow on your head.

to do that is to kill Ralph!
There are three time zones to enter. Past, Present and Future...
The best place to start the game is in the present. Exploring around, you
will find many places to go. You can get into fights, go to the underground
and gamble, buy weapons, etc.
To kill Ralph you'll need a special weapon that can be obtained in the future.
You need to find the dude who can give you instructions on how to get around
in the future before you'll be able to go there.
When you enter the past, your weapon (if any) is transformed into the
equivalent spell power and your available ammo is used for the number of
spells you can cast.
Once you have accumulated enough gold, you can then buy the information to
get into the future and find the doctor who will do the special weapon implant
to kill Ralph.

Some things to remember:
You can see [Y]our settings and [E]at beef jerky from just about anywhere,
even though you don't see a Y or E on the menu.
If you don't stay in the motel, you are randomly placed somewhere in the
game. Other players can find you if they go to the same place you have
been placed. They have a 50/50 chance of seeing you when they pass by.
Don't spend all your money right away. You'll need it in the beginning.
Beef jerky is a health restorer. You will accumulate some thru out the
game. If you run out, you can order drinks at the bar or the inn or you
can order meals at the restaurant.
If you win a battle, your health is restored to 100% automatically!
If you beat up the bum at the waterfront, you'll be missing out on some-
thing you don't want to miss out on... Of course, if you do beat him up
you can always pay for the doc to fix him up.

Ralph has brought a time transporter to earth and is giving access to time
travel to just about anyone who wants it. Unfortunately many people have
miss-used this access and have caused major problems with the time line. The
very existence of earth is threatened. You must find a way to kill him and
stop time travelers from causing more problems.

wierd hovercraft machines and haul you off to some huge arena. You're tossed
in a cage with a bunch of other people, most of whom seem to be totally
insane, ranting and screaming in some strange language...
Fotunately you don't have to wait long as you are motioned out by the guards
and led into the arena. They strap a belt on you and tell you that if you are
victorious, you will be set free. As the guard flips a switch on the belt you
feel a wierd tingling sensation over your whole body and you realize this must
be some kind of shielding device!
They leave you standing in the middle of the huge arena. The roar of the
crowd is deafening as you see the gate on the other end of the arena opening..
